In the native app, students cannot open files from homeroom in another application

Solved

If a teacher uploads a file to Homeroom that they want the students to open in another app, the students must load Homeroom in Safari in order to open the file.

If they click the "Download" button from the native app, the only options in the "Open In" square are Notes, Email, and a few others.

If they have to use the native app to submit work from other apps to HR, you'd think they'd also be able to use the native app to open in other apps from HR.

An update has been approved by Apple that fixes the issue, and should be available in the app store by the end of the day today. Pressing "Download" at the top of an attachment will now show the full "Open In" menu.

The screenshot below shows how to use the Download button to open a PDF. It should also work for images, documents, and video files.
